Grandma also taught me how to sew. At that time, Elise was in the hospital so I had to come over and stay at grandma's place for a while after school,I think. I was quite bored so grandma took out her sewing kit and started to teach me. I was so happy I could sew. I was about lower primary school age that time I think. Later on, in Form 1, we were learning about sewing in Kemahiran Hidup. I was so happy and proud because grandma taught me this and I was able to do it. Not many people was taught how to sew by their grandmas, that's why I'm very blessed to have her.

I also remember me being a small little toddler, always spending time at Grandma and gpa's house. I used to love it there. I even stayed overnight with grandma! Elise, mama and dada went home and I slept with grandma! Grandma likes to experiment with food. Her chinese pancakes were one of the nicest things she made for me. She put raisins in them. I used to take a chair and carry it all the way to her kitchen to watch her cook the pancake. It wasn't only one time, she made pancakes many times and I made sure I took the chair and stood on the chair(cos I was too short) and watched her cook. I cherish those moments a lot now. It was so fun to watch her make the pancakes. But then a few years later, she changed and experimented with the recipe so I didn't quite like it later on because I think she added some chinese gooseberries or something.

When I got a little bit older, Grandma allowed me to cook pancakes with her. I also made curry with her! :DD She taught me how to make curry and it was GOOD. I liked standing on the chair in grandma's kitchen. You can see the whole car park and the next block from her kitchen window. It's awesome.

Chapter One part three.

Grandma also taught me how to use the Vege skin peeler. It was very dangerous because it's like a knife. If you're not careful, you can scrape you own skin off! Plus, it wasn't a carrot or something long and easy to peel. Grandma gave me an APPLE! It's round and small so it's quite hard for a toddler-about 4-5 years old! She bought the scissors for me when I was two years old! My mama was shocked and got scared that I may hurt myself. But grandma believed in me and just handed me the peeler. She just showed me how to do it and then left me there on the stool, on the floor, peeling apples.

Grandma gave me many 'first' things. Grandma gave you your first thing. Ever. Your name,Ben. Your chinese name means- new dawn/ new morning. Even she's far away but it doesn't mean that her heart's not with you. She's actually trying her best to see you but she's not fit to travel anymore. Travelling makes her tired. When I was a toddler, like your age, gma was younger, stronger and healthier. And she travelled to and fro every year to see me. But when I turned her health detoriated. So slowly, she's tired most of the time.
Grandma was a teacher. She believes in waking up early. When she was a teacher, she would get up very early to prepare the materials for her daily lesson. She was a very good teacher, and up till this day, her students are still very grateful to her. They even came to take care of her when she was sick and still come and greet her when they see her.

Grandma taught me lots of stuff. When I was young, she bought me a pair of SCISSORS. It was so cool. It was red and made of plastic with metal blades in the middle. It is the best scissors EVER. It was perfect. It wasn't very sharp so it didn't cut me but it wasn't very blunt either so I really could cut things up(paper, etc), unlike the useless plastic scissors of today. She taught me how to use the scissors, how to cut stuff, how to cut repeated patterns on a piece of paper( fold it,cut..) Because of grandma, I LOVED to cut. I used to cut up a lot of papers here and there.

Chapter One

Ben2,

Actually grandma has been planning to visit you in Penang for a long time already. But because of her health situation-her diabetes and her skin problems, she might not be able to spend time and be with you. I'm hoping that what I'll write in this blog will allow you to know her more. The year you were born, grandma was very very sick. She had never been that serious before and almost couldn't see you. By God's grace she survived.

Beginning of a chapter.

Dear Ben Ben and Annie.
Rachel here. I decided to write this blog to share with you about grandma and grandpa. Since you've been living in Penang since you were born and grandpa and gma,as I'm writing this, are living in KL, you don't/didn't really get to know and spend time with them. As the oldest grandchild, I was born first. Thus, I was able to spend the most time with grandma and grandpa. Plus, gma and gpa were younger then so they were fitter and could do more things.

As I am writing this, grandma is already quite old and quite sick. But I believe that the memories I have of grandma will never die. And I'm gonna share my memories with you now.

Rachel.
